WHAT IS . . .
An "estate sale" is offered for a very short period of time and is intended to dispose of the majority of the furniture and household goods owned by a person who typically will be moving to a retirement facility, an assisted living community, a new downsized home, or by a family that has lost a loved one. It is frequently a difficult task that may be too burdensome for the home owner or the family, so many people require a professional.

When you call us, a representative of Valley Estate Sales will arrange an appointment with you to discuss your needs, your expectations, and your questions. This consultation is free and
without obligation. Our understanding your expectations and obtaining your guidance will
be vital to the success of the sale.
We have professional appraisers that are available to consult with us when setting the prices on the more valuable merchandise that will be in the sale, and we make every reasonable effort to display the merchandise in a professional and appealing way.
THE COST . . .
Our fee is thirty three percent of the gross proceeds of the sale. Our responsibilities include:
Clean, sort, and display the merchandise
Research values and price the items
Advertise in local sources and on our Web site
Notify our large mailing list via email
Place signs at intersections in the neighborhood
Staff and conduct the sale
Unsold items removed after the sale
Leave the property "broom clean"
AFTER THE SALE . . .
The client is provided a detailed list of the sale prices of each item sold at more than fifty dollars and the total sales for each category of merchandise (e.g. glassware, garden tools, small furniture, etc.) for items sold below that price. The client is provided his or her share of the proceeds of the sale after the event. Selected merchandise is distributed to a local non-profit organization at that time.
